Standing Committees

Foxfire has very active advisory committees that address the opportunities and needs of our community and report to the Board of Directors. Each committee is led by a chairperson and includes a Board member who is the liaison to the committee.

Members are encouraged to apply for and serve on the committees.  Committee chairpersons and members serve one-year terms from October 1 through September 30 (Foxfire’s fiscal year) and may serve up to five terms; however, the Board has the authority to make exceptions when necessary.

Virtually every homeowner’s association has an Architectural Review Committee (or, an ARC, as it’s commonly known).  Foxfire is no exception and has had one from the day it was first formed.  ARCs serve several important functions in communities such as ours.  In general, they maintain the aesthetics, construction standards, and home values in the community.  The purpose of this website is to introduce you to the duties of the ARC, and how they are carried out.  We hope this will give you a convenient roadmap to assist you in participating in this very important process.

Foxfire’s governing documents—its By-Laws and its Master Declaration of Covenants—both establish and provide guidance for its ARC.  You’ll find the pertinent portions of both those governing documents that deal with the ARC elsewhere on this website.  ARCs are specifically authorized by Section 720.3035 of the Florida Statutes.  Foxfire’s ARC is administered by the members of its committee who are appointed by the Board of Directors.  The current members of Foxfire’s committee can also be found elsewhere on this website.

The committee is charged with administering the architectural and aesthetic review and control functions of the Master Association.  This is a large responsibility, and their work is extremely important to all members to ensure that the integrity of Foxfire’s covenants and by-laws is maintained.  Below you’ll find information on the most common subjects the ARC regulates, the standards that they maintain, and the procedures that they follow.  Before you make any changes to your property, please consult these guidelines, or call a member of the ARC to receive further information and have your questions answered to ensure that you have the proper permission and are following the appropriate procedure.  Failure to do so can result in avoidable delay or expense.

Strategic Plan & Progress

Foxfire’s 10-Year Rolling Plan is developed and managed by the Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) with input from the Standing Committee chairs, Board of Directors and Foxfire Administration. The SPC reviews and recommends plan updates to the Board on a quarterly basis (March, June, September and December) and the updated plan is posted to the website once approved by the Board. Here is the SPC Ten-Year Rolling Plan as of December 2024.

Projects in excess of $25,000 are included in the plan and each project is assigned one of the following funding categories:

  • Capital Improvements (typically, new and unplanned projects that may be funded by member annual reserved contributions or require a membership vote and special assessment)
  • Strategic Repairs and Replacements/Not Reserved (typically, major golf course projects such as bunkers, fairways, greens, tee boxes and irrigation pumping that Foxfire has chosen to have members approve and special assess)
  • Strategic Repairs and Replacements/Reserved  (typically, repairs and replacements of existing common property and major golf course components funded by member annual reserved contributions)
  • Operations (typically, projects under the Operations budget)

As projects are discussed and planned, an asterisk will be noted for projects that may require a membership vote and special assessment.  Projects currently in process are listed toward the end of the plan in the "Under Construction or Contract” area. The last section of the plan lists Completed Projects.
